Hey Otters! 

Some information to follow re: yesterday's meet, this week's expectations, Sprint Sizzler in 2 weeks, and Summer Swim Clinic opportunities hosted by our team sponsor, SSAN. 

Saturday, May 16 vs. Woodlands Hurricanes. What a fun, competitive meet! The team scores were neck and neck the entire meet, and when it all came down to it, the Otters pulled off the WIN by 4 points! 733-729 Otters on top! Congratulations, Team, and thank you, families, for all your efforts to make it a smooth-running and fun swim meet! The Hurricanes team leadership commended us on how well everything went, and that is due to the work everyone puts in to make it happen. Not only did we take the Victory yesterday, but we also have a couple of swimmers who achieved new RECORDS! 

Cason Shultz -- Congratulations on now holding the Pool and Team Records for 6U Boys 25 Freestyle and the Team Record for 6U Boys 25 Backstroke, beating previous records held since 1980. Wow! 

Jaden Otwell -- In a new age group and working her way through some new records one meet at a time. Jaden is now our Team Record holder in 15-18 Girls 100 Free, 50 Free, and 100 IM. She is the Pool Record holder in 100 IM, 50 Back, and 50 Fly. Incredible! 

Results from yesterday's meet have been added to the Otters website under Swim Meets > Meet Results. 

Next week: Declaration is open for next Saturday's meet, which is "away" at Woodforest. Reminder: Declaration closes Wednesday at 8:00pm. This will be the first ever matchup between Otters & Woodforest Wave Breakers. Volunteer jobs will open at 8pm tonight. More info will be sent this week. 

Tomorrow, Monday, 5/18 is a makeup practice day from one of the days we were rained out. Same practice times for each age group. Brianna is currently confirming with the city for lifeguards, so as soon as she receives that, she'll give the "all-go!" 

Sprint Sizzler is a mid-season invitational swim meet on Sunday, 5/31 and Monday, 6/1 at Cy-Fair ISD Natatorium. It is a great opportunity to get more experience competing individually, swimming with teammates vying for relay victories, and reaching personal goals for Invitational Qualifying Times. 1st-8th place Individual Event medals are awarded, 1st-3rd place ribbons for relays, and High Point Swimmers & Team Trophies are given. Sunday's events begin at Noon, and Monday's events start at 5:00pm. The meet announcement is attached to this email. It includes the daily schedule by event, qualifying times, setup info, etc. 

There are individual entry fees for this meet, $9/event. We will post a Cheddar Up link for payment closer to the meet. The team pays for Relays. 

Declaration is open for Sprint Sizzler and will close on FRIDAY, MAY 22ND (This week! They are due to meet organizers on Saturday after our dual meet!)
