Things to do for a SWIM MEET:

BEFORE a meet:

1- COMMIT or DECLINE your swimmer! We need to know if your swimmer plans to be at the meet or not, and if so, what events they want to swim. This process is called Declaration, and we ask that you declare by 6:00pm on the Wednesday before the meet. Some meets have different deadlines, so it's important to have a valid email on file and take note of certain changes when communication is sent out.  During declaration, you can also let us know if your swimmer is available for relays and leave notes to coaches. You must hit "save".

2- Check the website for your volunteer positions. We print volunteer positions out on Friday night, so they are ready for check-in on Saturday morning. It takes ALL OF US for a swim meet to be successful.

DAY OF the meet:

1- Get there early to check in. There will be a table set up with A GIRLS line and a BOYS line. Every swimmer needs to check in. This lets us know you are there for the day. The check-in volunteers will write your swimmers event numbers on their arms that they are swimming for the meet. **This is VERY IMPORTANT** If your swimmer is not checked in -- we will assume they are a NO SHOW and we will SCRATCH them from the meet. If you are running late, sick, or have some other situation, please email, call, or text someone, so they can pass the word along.

2- Get ready for warm-ups. If we are the home team we will warm up first. Usually from 7:15-7:45. If we are the visiting team we get the 2nd warm-up session. Usually from 7:45 - 8:15. Meets start at 8:30am.

3- Bring extra towels, a sweat shirt (It's cold in the mornings), caps, goggles, water, snacks, chairs, and money for Otters Concession!

4- IF by chance you have to leave the meet and you are in a freestyle relay... PLEASE let the coaches know ASAP, so we can find replacements.

AFTER a meet:

1- Be sure to clean up your area and pick up all trash, towels, shoes, etc..
